Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have private rooms?

Yes, we have 16 private rooms and our four shared rooms only have two beds with ample space and separation for privacy.

What insurances are accepted?

Due to the high demand in Monterey Peninsula for private, quiet rooms – we only accept Medicare-insured residents for up to 100 days.

Do you have therapy in-house?

Absolutely, this is why we exist! Our mission is to provide the therapy and nursing required to return to optimal health after a stay at the hospital. We offer in-house therapy for all three disciplines of physical, occupational, and speech to ensure recovery.

How is the food?

It is the best you’ll find in a nursing facility! We are located in a renovated historic hotel and share a restaurant-style kitchen and culinary team with an Assisted Living Facility. We therefore have a larger budget for talented chefs and fresh nutritious food. We can accommodate allergies, sensitivities, and dietary needs and will happily cater to any preferences.

Do you have enough staff?

Due to our small and intimate setting, we have double the amount of staff per resident as most nursing facilities in the county and state. This can be verified with our staffing star ratings from CMS. This means better care, virtually no call-light wait time, and space for staff to connect personally and meet social and detailed needs.

When are visiting hours?

We’re open for visits 24/7 and screen visitors in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Can I bring food for my loved one?

Yes, you may bring in food for consumption during your visit but we cannot store food for later. This is to ensure freshness and for the well-being of our residents.

Do you allow pets?

We believe pets play an important role in the well-being of our residents (and ourselves!). Visits are usually allowed depending on the type, vaccination documentation, and temperament. Social Services can assist with clearing pets for visits.

Do you have TVs? Phones? WiFi?

Yes. All beds have individual phone lines that can be dialed directly. All beds have a TV with Comcast cable services. We also provide high-speed WIFI. You will stay connected during recovery.

Can my loved one receive mail?

Mail is delivered to residents personally.
